Choquequirao

The archeological monument of choquequiraw is one of the most beautiful Incan constructions and gives an impressive look at the Incan communication system. This site has ceremonial characteristics and includes many temples and here you can also find the deepest canyon in the world, Apurimac.

Itinerary

 

Day 1
We will pick you up from your hotel at 5:30 am, and we will drive to Cachora. This drive will take about 4 hours and we will arrive in Cahora at about 11 am and here we will prepare for the hike. We will make ready all of our equipment and load the mules from there we will hike for about 6 hours and then rest in Capulichayoc where we will have lunch and then continue hiking on to Rosalinda where we will camp for the night.

Day 2
We will leave Rosalinda early and head toward Sunchupata. Along the way we will be ablt to observe the climate change and vegetation. We will stop and rest and have lunch in Maranpata before continuing on to Sunchupata to make camp for the night.

Day 3
From Suinchupata we will hike on to Choquequiraw where we will visit the ruins. You will have chance to fully explore the archeological sight and have the benefit of a guide. We will then return to Suinchupata fort he night.

Day 4
From Suinchupata we will hike back to Rosalina. On this trail we will come to the place where they prepare a typical drink Chicha de Cana de Azucar. This is a delicious drink. Here we will camp for the night.

Day 5
On this day we will hike from Rosalina back to Cachora from there we will take a bus back to Cusco.
