Ausangate

This is the most prominent mountain among those surrounding Cusco. Ausangate stands at 6372 meters above sea level. Our trail will take us along breathtaking passage ways and you will experience beautiful landscapes. We will be at about 5000meters above sea level for the majority of the trail. Ausangate is on the most beautiful attractions in the Cusco area.

Itinerary

 

Day 1
We will depart Cusco at 12:30 am and rive five hours to Tinki. We will have camp here.

Day 2
Beginning at 7 am we will hike from Tinki to Upis for about 6 hours. In Upis we will visit a community that is situated at 4400 meters above sea level; 6 families live there. From there we will continue hiking to a place to make camp.

Day 3
At 7 am we will have breakfast in Upis and then hike about 7 hours through the mountains to Arapa. Here we will have another breathtaking view of the surrounding rock formations. Arapa is at 4850 meters above sea level.

Day 4
At 7 am we will begin walking from Arapa to the pass from Ausangate about 8 hours. In this part of the trail we will see impressive mountains and the lake Yanaccocha. This pass is at 4750 meters above sea level.

Day 5
On this day we will walk from Ausangate to Huchuy finaya about 7 hours during this part of the trail we will be able to observe the mountains of ausangate , santa catalina, parco calle, and maria huamantilla all of these mountains are at 6372 meters above sea level and all have cave formations in the snow.

Day 6
From Huchuy finaya we will walk to Pacchanta this trail will take about 7 hours. We will then spend time at the Pacchants hot springs.

Day 7
On this day we Hill hike back to Tinki this should take about 2 hours from there we Hill drive back to Cusco.
